More or less, every Sunday at the stables, there’s a man that comes to put shoes onto our horse’s feet. I’ve always been interested in the process, but even more so by the reason behind shodding the horses. I’ve always thought that maybe it was for comfort for the horses while they were cantering or trotting. But then I realized that horses were able to survive hundreds and hundreds of years without horse shoes, so there must be another reason for shodding them other than comfort, because our horse’s ancestors didn’t need shoes when running in the wild.
