First Comedy Performance!
This is gonna be a shorter blog post, but a couple of weeks ago, I performed a comedy set to an audience of over 100 individuals at The Great Star Theater in San Francisco, CA. Honestly, going into it, I was pretty nervous and thought I wouldn’t even be able to remember the entire thing while sounding naturally conversational.
And I was right. I didn’t really remember everything and I had to improvise on the spot a lot, and circle back to jokes, but I learned something really important. The only person who knows you messed up is yourself, so as long as you go out there confident, no one is even going to notice that you stumbled over your jokes, or you forgot something. I spent so long contemplating after, but rewatching the video, I saw that really it was all in my head and the most important thing to do is to go out there, give it your all, and have fun, which I definitely did!
Speaking of the video, here’s the link: https://youtu.be/fA7NQzpdO1U. Feel free to watch, comment, and subscribe if you like the set! I’ll be doing an open mic with a different set in a couple of days at Manilatown and I’ll get another video out as soon as I can.
As always, thanks so much for reading and see you in the next one!
